As a long time Mac advocate, Josh has been in the industry over ten years now. He spends his days building websites in Ruby on Rails, writing software for Mac OS X, and reading tech news. Some say computers consume his life, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
Having gained experience though numerous corporate tech jobs, he realized that route wasn't really for him, crunching numbers, and working on corporate databases isn't everything it's cracked up to be. He needed creative control, and the flexibility to work on the applications he wanted to write. It's this change in his lifestyle that has allowed Throttled Pro and many other applications to be developed.
In his quest for knowledge, he attended Big Nerd Ranch in 2004 to fine tune his Cocoa development skills. We would like to extend a huge thanks to Aaron Hillegass for providing the best Cocoa course one could imagine.
Although he spends a good amount of time writing software or designing websites, he also has a passion for networking and system administration. He has provisioned T1, Centrex ISDN, and DSL lines to big businesses all over Chicago, and used server software including Apache, qmail, sendmail, ftpd, ncftpd, MySQL, and Microsoft IIS to name a few. He is also proficient using just about every OS on the market including FreeBSD, Linux, Windows (Win9X/NT/2000/XP), and Macintosh (especially MacOS X).
